‘Tis Sunday, which means it’s time for another Six Sentence Sunday. :) That is when:
- You pick six (6) sentences from anything you’ve written–a work in progress (wip), something under submission, something sold; something new, something old.
- You sign up at the Six Sunday website Tuesday starting at 6PM EST.
- You post it on Sunday (along with posting a link of suxisunday.com)! Such as I have below.
- And then you enjoy.
So, last week, Lawson and Catherine finally escaped the soldiers who’ve invaded their city. Which means we’re going back to Zoe, who when we last saw her had escaped the prison camp. We’re going to fast forward to her meeting someone who will end up being a bigger part of her saving her city than she ever thought.
She’s just found his watch at a ball she’s kinda…well, infiltrating. :)
“Weird,” Zoe murmured, bringing it close to her face. The echo of thudding footsteps reached her ears then, and she looked up in time to see a young man who, though well put together, managed to look disheveled. His chestnut-colored hair was on the longish side, but appeared to be from a missed cut, rather than style. His eyes were dark, almost black; it was only after he’d stepped toward her that she noticed they were actually a very dark blue. Somehow, he reminded her of something wild, something ferocious.
“I suppose,” he said slowly, “if someone had to find my watch, it’s a good thing it was you.”
Next week, we find out who he is. Or at least a little more than we know now. Until then, check out all the other wonderful sixes here! Great reading and exposure to so many different writers and genres and stories! Oh, my!
Intriguing six! Is there something special about the watch as well as the man?
Maaaybe. :) Glad you were intrigued! Thanks for coming by, Lorraine!
Oh, he sounds like a rogue. I like him already! So, what it is about the watch, hmm?
It’s special to him. Maybe we’ll find out why. :) I’m glad you liked him!
Very intriguing! You leave us hanging, girl *not fair* :)
Thanks, Zee! And heck yeah, leaving ya hanging is part of the game. ;)
Nice character description! =D
Thanks, Steven! :)
He seems to like her, or at least be glad no one else has his watch. I sense a romantic entanglement coming up.
You’ve got great senses. :) Appreciate you coming by, Kate.
Wow, how very “The Girl, the Gold Watch, and Everything.” That watch must be very important. Great six, Jalisa. :)
It’s at least important to him. Thank you, Siobhan! I’ve never read The Girl, The Gold Watch & Everything, but it sounds really interesting! Thanks!
