Time to Wake Up

Six Sentence Sunday is here and in full-effect. It’s a time to share, a time to read, a time to reflect. It’s also:

  • You pick six (6) sentences from anything you’ve written–a work in progress (wip), something under submission, something sold; something new, something old.
  • You sign up at the Six Sunday website Tuesday starting at 6PM EST.
  • You post it on Sunday (along with posting a link of suxisunday.com)! Such as I have below.
  • And then you enjoy.

Last week Zoe got a reality check. She met a man named Grey who let her know her kingdom was not all she thought it was. She’s not done learning as she’s finally reached her goal for crashing the ball: speaking to the royal advisor Ethan Saar. He’s not a warm guy.

The typewriter continued to clatter in the silence, and Ethan Saar never looked up from his desk, only glancing over at other sheets in front of him to continue typing.

“Mr. Saar,” Zoe started.

“Quiet,” he murmured, shaking his head.  Zoe shut her mouth, stunned as another flurry of keystrokes prefaced sheet after sheet being torn from the typewriter; once the stack had grown, he drew a metal-nibbled pen from a drawer and signed each one. He finally slowed and looked up at her over the rim of his glasses. “Akane was right: you are attractive and that works in your favor.”

Ain’t he sweet? More from these two next week. Till then: more Six Sunday love.

  1. I can’t decide if Saar is more Mycroft Holmes or Agent Coulson. Either way, he’s one of those dangerous characters who doesn’t need to advertise. Lovely!
