Repairs (#SFFSAT)

Welcome to another Science Fiction Fantasy Saturday. A little welcome, a few guidelines:

Welcome to Science Fiction Fantasy Saturday. On the surface, it’s a web ring of authors who post snippets of their work for comment. In reality, it’s a close-knit group of friends and colleagues working together to support and encourage one another and promote the science fiction and fantasy genres.

– JC Cassels, 2012

  1. Absolutely no erotica or explicit content. This ring is for all ages to read. This is the founding reason for this ring, and any diversions will be removed from the final list on Saturday.
  2. Length of snippets:
    • Prose: 4 – 10 sentences.
    • Poetry: 4 – 10 lines.
  3. Any and all comments on the authors’ work are welcome, but please take care to keep them constructive.

Alright, so last week Jack found out that Adelyn had been passed down from owner to owner for 347 years to preserve and continue a whole lot of research. Now, we’re getting out of the interrogation room (finally!) and jumping ahead to a point where Adelyn has been released from custody and is back to her normal day-to-day stuff. Today she has repairs. Jack has interrupted her just as she’s about to leave for said repairs.

“Did you say you’re about to get repairs?” He scratched the back of his neck and tried to peek at a chart lying on the counter next to him.

“Are you here to investigate my day to day maintenance, Jack?” He looked up into her face when she said his name; it sounded strangely familiar in her mouth.

“No, of course not. Just curious. I came to ask if you noticed any odd patterns or connections amongst the people who were killed, and the people who were suspect or charged with murdering them.”

Adelyn screwed her face up as she thought, unbuttoning her cotton-candy pink blouse. Jack blinked at her, unable to force himself to say anything as she revealed the shape of her breasts beneath a silken camisole, her shirt laid aside. She lifted the camisole, then and Jack held up his hand.

Such a gentleman, right? The tantalizing conclusion to Adelyn’s abrupt flashing next t week! ;) Until then, check out the other great snippets here.

    1. Glad I got your attention, Chantal. And thanks for stopping by! She doesn’t really consider what she’s doing flashing. She’s naive like that, which is why she’s fun to write.
