Last week for Music Monday I featured “Hanging On” by Active Child and Ellie Goulding‘s cover. When I found Goulding’s cover of this haunting song, I also found her cover for another artist, this song decidedly not haunting.
It was The Weeknd’s “High For This,” which is Part 2 of this week’s double-header. Listen to the cover first (above) and then the original (below). Both are a peek into a drug-laced world that after listening to rest of The Weeknd’s catalog, I found was just the surface. More from him on another Monday.

I think on the whole that I like the original, but that might be because I prefer lower voices? The cover is good, too . . .
I like the original more, too. I like the cover. And it’s good. But there’s a certain something to the original that is…alluring?
